i think this is a great idea however (no offence to the artists) but the mock-ups are nasty looking....suggestion maybe were you hover over the icon say 5 seconds by default and it shows the buddy list and thats the only time it does i just think that would make it better (with settings available)

yea the first pic is mine, lol i threw that together in like under 2 minutes just to get my idea across. I think the second one gets my point across a lot better thought. Even if you don't agree with the colors.
