Simple standalone script in perl that get image covers from your .covers folder or a jpg file in your Media Player Daemon music folder (a variable in the script). It shows the percentage or the time of the song played. It should work with any MPD client, just change the name in the script.

Now the script won't crash if AWN is'nt open.
